Millfields Parking Restrictions

The Committee is fully aware of the recently installed double yellow lines within Millfields. We have been working with Burnham Town Council to understand why this has happened, why we were not consulted and also to register our dissatisfaction with this decision.

Overturning such decisions is not simple, as these are a legal enforcement, we will however be collating our objection, evidence and impact to ensure that the council is made fully aware of the collective voice of the club.

We are not the only group who has objected, and it will be important that we work closely in the coming weeks with these groups to reflect a wider dissatisfaction.

Please be aware though that the parking restrictions WILL come into effect on the 19th February

In the meantime, we have an agreement to use the proposed parking for the new caravan site, and there will be parking Marshall’s at the club to help direct and organise the parking. We have also requested that this arrangement is extended to cover the remaining part of the season, however we are still awaiting a decision on that.

The Committee will work actively to get this enforcement removed, but in the meantime it would help that we coordinate activities as a club rather than have separate threads operating.

There will be a form for people to sign at the club at the weekend. We will then use this to demonstrate the sway of opinion in due course.

We’ll keep updating you on developments, and we ask that you support us in this.
