Millfields Parking Enforcement update - 19/02

Dear Members, Parents and Players,

Please note that the parking enforcement is NOW in operation.

We have now secured a temporary agreement to utilise the caravan overflow parking area that was available to us last weekend. It's not going to satisfy all our parking needs, but will allow some relief.

We are making arrangements to have that opened for all fixtures, however parking will be on a first come, first served basis. We also need to consider the away team as a possible priority. The car park at the far end by the sea wall will also be available, as well as the limited spaces at the start of Millfields.

I would ask parents and players to consider the restrictions, and if parking is not available to look at some of the residential roads bordering the ground. I have to be clear that this is not something I am happy with nor endorsing, and anyone deciding to park in the adjoining area should be respectful of the residents access and needs.

If you can avoid using your car, and can make alternative arrangements to get to the club that would be great, but I fully appreciate that this is not something that is available to everyone.

We are continuing to work with a town council member, and they visited the club on Sunday to see the extent of the issue we are facing. They are also working with other affected groups.

We will continue to press for the enforcement to be lifted, but the immediate situation may not change in the short-term.

Again, please keep supporting us, we have been collecting signatures of support, and if you want to register your objection, forms will be available at the club at the weekend.

We’ll keep updating you on developments, and we ask that you support us in this.

President
