Burnham U8's travelled to Rochford on a cold morning but the early morning rain in Burnham had thankfully missed Rochford and the sun was warming the ground. We had 11 players and Rochford 18. Each team split into two to play each other.
Both teams played at the same time and they both struggled to get tags in the cold weather. Both games were tight but Rochford's defence and tagging proved superior allowing Rochford to win both of the first two games.
At the end of the first game the teams swapped around. Rochford's defence made it hard work for us in the second game as they came up in a line and all of their players taking tags enabled them to get one seven tag turnover. The superior tagging and defence of Rochford showed again enabling them to win one game and drawing the other game. All credit must go to Rochford coming up as a line and taking many tags.
A special mention must go to Kieran Harris for some great team work in team Danny and to Brandon Clarke team Andy for some exceptional play and team work, however player of the day went to Nathan Flynn for listening to the teams talks and training, putting it all into practice enabling him to get into great position, assist and score a try.
