On a chilly day we warmed up and had a demonstration by the under 10's on how we should pass before contact.
This helped fire up our team. After a quick warm, we met the opposition's coach and team, they had approximately the same number of players as ourselves which would hopefully be a good game.
The game lived up to our expectations with both teams providing tough defences making the attacking side work hard to make a breakthrough with some great try saving tackles by both sides.
Both teams were not short of attacking moves either, as a great defense is only made by the attacking play testing it. Our worthy opponents which Witham definitely were, creating space, driving and passing, both teams played very well.
I am so proud of our team today as they all stepped up a notch, passed, looked for space and supported each other. We tried again this week, the buddy system started to work and paid dividends as the players knew where each other were in both attack and defense. They all played so well that none of them wanted to come off. Tries scored by Joe Banks, Oliver Bennett, Patrick Smyth and Thomas Courts. Well done to George Hutchins man of the match, for tackling and not wanting to come off.
We would like to give a special thank you to Witham for being such good hosts and great opponents today.
