CAPTAINS PETHERWICK AND COOK LEAD BURNHAM THROUGH A FABULOUS MORNING OF RUGBY.

Well we just cannot say more than a tremendous, incredible, fabulous, wicked, stupendous WELL DONE to our marvellous Under 10 squads, we put two teams out thanks to the support of the parents and players – thank you. Special thanks go to the Under 17 team who gave up their own training time to come and give our team a few tips for tackling. This must have worked as both our teams came out of the blocks fast, furiously, effectively and most of all determined.
Both squads played very similar games, working well on their solid and effective tackles, and ensuring they came up as a unit on their defence, this clearly worked as we only let Woodham through a few times. Woodham are an incredibly well drilled side who use the ball to their full advantage, popping it out at every opportunity which meant that the score board was very much in their favour.

However Burnham squads were not to be deterred they were full of Christmas pud and treats and were determined to get their team over the line for some points. We had some incredible chinky runs and excellent side stepping to defy the Woodham defence. Special mention to warriors Joshua Schiembri and Hayden Churchill who battled forwards at every opportunity leaving Woodham players in their wake, but then manage to pass the ball out to ensure the team scored tries with the great support work from the try scorers.
Fantastic congratulations to our players of the week, one squad – Harry Jarchow for outstanding running, Charlie Sims for his determination not to be tackled, Jobo Petherwick for his exceptional leadership.
Second squad – Lewis Gillet exceptional tackling, lovely and low, Ratty Diss exceptional support, Sam Kelleher for lifting his spirits and extremely courageous play.
