The Burnham U9s kicked off 2025 in impressive style with a first training session that was as gritty as it was impressive. Despite torrential rain that saw the cancellation of the first Parkrun of the year, the majority of the team showed up anyway, turning the disappointment on its head and having their own impromptu unofficial Parkrun takeover.

Their determination set the tone for what became a high-energy and spirited first training session of the year. Once joined by the rest of their teammates, the players picked up right where they left off, barrelling into 2025 with enthusiasm and team spirit in abundance.

The “Player of the Week” selection was no easy task, given the energy and enthusiasm on display. However, luckily for Katherine, Harry stood out being the first to arrive for the Parkrun and running tirelessly until the very last whistle, stopping only for the team photo. His effort and commitment made him a well-deserved winner. Well done Harry!

If they keep up the commitment and enthusiasm shown in their first session 2025 will be an exciting year for the Burnham U9s.
