Bagged as a tough game, Burnham travelled to the City of Chelmsford to play this Merit Table League Game. With a number of players injured or unavailable, Burnham expected to struggle against a team renowned for their forward play. With one of two players making their debut, Burnham started brightly, and a pattern emerged with Chelmsford looking to dominate the game in the forwards, whilst Burnham had the speed and ability in the backs.
That said, Burnham forwards fronted up, and didn't disappoint, and whilst clearly giving away size, weight and power, they "manned up" taking the game to Chelmsford. This was enough for Burnham to capitalise, and the opportunities started to present themselves.
The team built on this, running our the eventual winners 49-24. A fantastic result, and with two wins out of three, Burnham now sit third in the league.
No game next week, as the league takes a break, so the team will be taking a well earned rest before their next league against Dagenham on the 19th.
