Thurrock v Burnham Colts 27th November 2016
Burnham Colts travelled to Thurrock for a friendly match. Two of Burnham's players swapped shirts and started for Thurrock to make up their numbers. The game go underway slowly with the teams fairly evenly matched, the home side taking the first try which went unconverted. Burnham swiftly replied with full back Rhys Newton running the length of the pitch to score their first try of the game, again this went unconverted.
Thurrock took the next try then Burnham's Amiel Montealegre weaved through Thurrock's defence to land Burnham's 2nd try, bringing the half time score to 10 all
Second half the teams played hard, the score increasing by one try each Burnham's 3rd try scored by a very swift break through from Dylan Hawks, this time the conversion was made by Jamie Pugh bringing full time score to Thurrock 15 Burnham 17
Coaches comments:- Other notable mentions have to go to Joe Sadler, Tommy Shepherd and Luke Cowell - the back row were outstanding, very physical, particularly at the breakdown and covered so much ground. Proud of the team everyone played well.
Burnhams Man of the Match went to Ewan Allen who started the game in a Thurrock shirt.
