Burnham v Upminster Colts 19th February 2017
Upminster Colts travelled to Burnham, they arrived in good time and both teams were able to have a good warm up training session before the game.
it wasn't long into the game when Burnham's Jamie Pugh opened the scoring with what was to be his first of two tries.
despite continuing pressure from Upminster the first half was all Burnham's with a try from Tommy Shepherd and George Duck taking the score at half time to 15/0
Upminster came out strong into the second half with a try and conversion, both teams were playing a hard fought game but Burnham's Sam David put in a superb try under the post to allow Ben Belchambers to score the conversion taking the score now to 22/7.
Upminster managed to squeeze past Burnham's defence & scored a try which went un converted however Burnham's Jamie Pugh received the pass from Joe Sadler, saw his opening and dodged through to score his second try of the game, converted again by Ben Belchambers to confirm Burnham as the winners with score line at 29/12. tackling and rucking were excellent with one very outstanding tackle from Charlie MeCoy!
Burnham's Man of the Match went to Luke Cowell who put in some hard work to bring the team away with a convincing win
Burnham's Captain Harry Barclay commented 'The boys didn't let the energy drop, even when we conceded tries we stuck at it and didn't let them get the better of us
