Truly deserved player of the week Keeuan Jones for his great runs and superb passing.

England U8's... I mean Burnham U8's hosted a triangle against local rivals against Woodham Ferrers and Billericay today.

Their first game was against Billericay A team. The match started with Burnham coming out with some amazing attacking moves with all players running forward with the ball and then passing to players who were in support and in space, which resulted in a very early try. They then defended like their lives depended on it with and managed to push Billericay back deep into there own half. Billericay were forced to pass the ball, but they managed to find space and get a try back. Cam Bowyer and Kiara Hailstone being the tagging masters (as usual). Burnham then went on the rampage and ended the first half 9-2 up. The second half was much closer and Billericay showed why they are always a tough opposition, with the match ending a 11-8 victory to Burnham.
Burnhams second game was against Billericay B team. This was a much closer game, with great attaching and defending from both teams. They ended up with a draw at half time. The second half saw Burnham step up their defensive play and managed to get two turnovers. Owen Gillett made some amazing runs and selfishly passed the ball to Henry Miller-Wood who was there in support, to score a wonderful try. Aiden Hull, Angus Beale and Henry Miller Wood also linked up to create one of the best moves and tries of the day, which resulted in them winning the game 9-6.
The third and final game for Burnham was against their arch rivals Woodham. As expected, this was a very close game, with both teams attacking well and defending even better. Harvey Brooks was always in support and ready to receive the ball for Burnham. Ryker Hayter made some great runs down the wing and despite being injured by being pushed in the back, got up and carried on for his team. Harry Courts was his usual speedy self, managing to tie the defense up in knots with his quick change of direction and pace, but player of the week this week had to go to Keeuan Jones for his great runs, but more importantly his great passing to players in support.
It really was a truly International performance from such a young developing squad.
