BURNHAM SHINE IN THE RAIN

Burnham shine in the rain.

Burnham U8's went over to Colchester for the second time this year as their clubhouse was closed for refurbishment. Burnham had 11 players make the trip, so Colchester agreed to play two 5 a side teams.

Burnham A team came out all guns blazing in their first game with some amazing runs, dummies, side steps and tries. Great support play and passing were also the order of the day. In defense Burnham had finally got it together and were getting tags left, right and centre. This meant at half time they were 8-3 up. Colchester came back in the second half with fresh legs and produced some great runs and tries. Burnham managed to respond with a few tries of their own and held on to an 11-8 victory.

Burnham A's second game was a much tougher affair. They started off well with a quick try, but Colchester came back with straight away with a equally quick try, even with some good tagging by Oliver and Keeuan. The match was very close all through the first half. The second half, Burnham struggled to keep their form as tired legs and minds set in. Although there were some great tries from Harry, Harvey and Angus, the basic handling errors meant easy turnovers for Colchester and was enough to give them the victory.
