Colchester v Burnham U8's & Mistley v Burnham U8's 05/11/17

Eight players from Burnham's U8's team travelled to Colchester on a chilly but bright morning. The team played 3 games, Colchester A team, Colchester B team and Mistley.
The first game was against Colchester A team. As visitors we started with the ball and immediately made ground but Colchester had a strong defensive line and kept tagging well. Our training mid week paid off as everyone kept running forward, making ground. We just needed to remember keep tagging until the referee blows the whistle! End score Colchester 5-3 Burnham.
The second game was against Colchester B team. This was a closer match and both teams fought well. Colchester were very organised but our team continued their positive play. End score Colchester 5-4 Burnham.
Our finally game was against Mistley. Burnham focussed on tagging, running forward and playing to the whistle. Although a close game Burnham came out on top with a 6-5 win!
Huge efforts by all of our players time after time with great tagging and running forward. All three teams need to be applauded for great games of rugby. Things we need to take to the next game and practise in mid week training is keep tagging despite how close they are to the try line, keep the defensive line and don't bunch up!
