U8’s v Rochford

Rochford brought 2 well drilled teams to Burnham.
Match 1; U8’s v Rochford B
A very close match ending 12-14. All players contributed to a great game. Unfortunately we gave away a couple of turn overs with the 6 tag turn over rule which enabled Rochford to take advantage & score a couple of extra try’s.
Our try scorer’s were George Corrigan (6), Matthew Corrigan (3), Charlie Kober (2) & Bobby Brown (1).
Match 2; U8’s v Rochford A
This match saw some brilliant support play especially from Tilly Spring who scored 2 try’s by being in the right place at the right time. Charlie Hill & Elliott Cottman tagged a lot of the Rochford players.
Unfortunately in the second match Burnham had a few tired legs but the team kept applying pressure. The over score was Burnham 9-Rochford 13.
Our try scorer’s were Stefan Webb (2), Tilly Spring (2), Sienna Haddrell (1), George (2) & Matthew (2).

Rochford performed the basics really well by moving the ball down the line & running straight! A lot of Burnham’s players were running sideways so unfortunately making no distance and allowing Rochford to keep us contained while taking tags! A special mention to Tilly & Charlie Kober who did always run straight when handling the ball.
The team played really well against a great side & with practising running forward-passing down the line in training this week, we should be ready for Old Brentwood on Sunday!
