Rochford (Round Robin v Canvey Island)

Burnham U8 travelled to Rochford for the first game of the season. There were four games scheduled in a round robin format with Canvey Island playing too. The rain thankfully held off for most of the games and all teams played with great spirit and generally with a smile on their faces.
Burnham fielded two new players but their performances made it look like they had played last season too.

Throughout the games their were some great individual tries for Burnham but also some superb support play helping to get the team over the try line. In defence Burnham kept the pressure up and with this years 6 tag turnover rule managed to gain back possession of the ball in almost every game. There was one player whom seemed to make it his mission to get every Tag and was racing up to Tag as soon as he could. Whilst the whole team played really well this tagging effort earned Jake our player of the week.
