Nearly a full strength team travel to SWF

Burnham U8 travelled to South Woodham Ferrers which could be the local derby fixture.

Lucas returned to the team after an ear operation and sporting a headguard (we think in preparation for contact next year ;-)) and a late drop out for Frankie meant we played with one team of 6 and one team of 5 players which Woodham agreed to.

With small pitches marked out both teams were soon racking up the tries but some even play from both sides meaning the first games were very close. Overall in the two games for both home and away teams 88 tries were scored which is amazing for two 15 minute games

The second game the pitches were adjusted to a bigger size and the players had a bit more freedom to show their running skills but Burnham did encore a couple of 6 tag turnovers which shows they are progressing with heir tagging. Between the two Burnham teams 4 four players scored 7 or more tries, one of note was Zachery who I think even surprised himself with that many tries and he maybe should have been player of the match but unfortunately was caught offside whilst trying to get the ball back a few times.

All players played very well and I'm told that there were some great organising skills by George and on the other team Thomas kept organising the team.

Every week as the players progress it is getting harder to decide and maybe they should just get team of the week but this weeks player of the week just keeps showing what straight line direct running does and pretty much always plays with a big smile on his face. Well done to Charlie.
