The Under 7’s hosted Rochford at home on Sunday with our biggest team all season, we now have a squad of ten players with a new Members Elizabeth Hainesby joining us and Thomas Hillier’s first day moving up form the Under 6’s. Both players joined the team and played incredibly well as this was their first match, with Thomas scoring a try!
Rochford had nine players, so as to involve as many players as possible both sides played with two teams one of five and other with four, it was planned that each team would play two games one each against the opposing Rochford side so all players played each other once. All matches where fast and furious with some great running on all sides and some excellent tagging by the home team at one point taking seven tags from Rochford in one play. Rochford did manage to get the upper hand on the day winning more games than the Home side, but all agreed that they had had great fun on the day and elected to play an additional game so everybody played three games in the end.
The Player of the match was award to Kieran Harris for playing some excellent rugby for the home side and volunteering to play for Rochford in the second game when they had a small injury.
