Burnham U7's win away at Canvey

With some nerves from the players and little from the coaches Burnham travelled to Canvey Island for their first ever match.

After agreeing two teams and two games played at the same time Burnham split into two teams of 4. With neither of Burnham’s teams having any substitutions everyone got to play the whole game.

After a slow start with both teams a little hesitant Burnham soon remembered their training and to go forward. After only a minute Burnham found their feet and quickly started running in tries. Canvey then worked out that going forward was helping their team and with a couple of quick backward passes and forward running they then found their first try.

Burnham eventually run out 12-3 winners and the second team winning 12-4. In the second games both teams after their first game taster had a better idea of how to play a bit better. With a little players change between teams, Burnham were very confident after their first games. Both teams winning again with one game a lot closer at 11-9 in favour of Burnham and the other game 10-2 winners.

A great start to this U7 team with 45 tries scored in 4 games. Lucas was this weeks player of the week with some great running lines, organising the teams defensive lines, good tagging and running in 12 tries of his own between the two games. However, all players showed some great running and tagging skills but most importantly they showed some great TREDS during and after the game with handshakes all round.
