Overall Burnham 190 - Maldon 185

A great morning of rugby panned out as a huge invasion of maldon players amassed at Millfields on Sunday. With only a few weeks of contact experience both teams threw themselves into their games full on. Burnham managed to field two teams and maldon had three which is an example of how strong youth rugby is in our area. Burnham showed some great moves and the coaches were very pleased with leadership shown by Barker, Sims and Diss. The continued improvement in attack of Dawson, Kelleher, Petherick and Diss was matched by a super display from Cook. In defence real steel was metered out from hailstone, Beale, Braybrook Jarchow and Schembri. Several players were commended for their play,Sims, Hailstone, Cook, Beale and Diss, but overall Player of the week was awarded to a extremely well deserved Joe Petherick who displayed the most incredible rugby, from attacking to defending.
