For the penultimate game of the season Burnham Under 9s left no stone unturned. Team Amber flew off the blocks from the start, ensuring solid defence and incredible attacking to take a win from Woodham.
Team Yellow were not so quick off the blocks and Woodham's strong attacking runs, making use of holes in our defence meant that they secured the first win.
The Amber team came back out with gusto and positivity to continue playing well keeping their defence strong and attacking hard and fast with Dawson running some great lines.
The yellow team then woke up and played an absolute blinder. Their defence was fantastic securing two turn over balls. This enabled Sam Kelleher to work in partnership with Harry Jarchow, shipping passes to each other, and then Sam completely changed the angle of his run to allow Harry to slip the ball out to him and fool the extremely strong Woodham defence and dive over the line. This was not the end of Burnham's incredible attacking game and Hayden Churchill managed to steam through y the Woodham line yet again to set up a fantastic pass to Shaun Salway who then popped the ball out to Arthur Diss who straightened up the line and made a great run up the pitch, but kept an eye out for his support which was well and truly there as he managed to get a quick pass out to Harvey Barker who flew over the line to score. Even the Referee commended them on their passing.
All in all an amazing morning of rugby from both Amber and Yellow. THANK YOU YET AGAIN UNDER 9S! We missed Charlie Sims and Lewis Gillett, get better soon please!
