A warm and friendly Welcome from Old Brentwood today on this bright and sunny morning and the first match of the new season.
Burnham side kindly agreed for 3 old Brentwood players to join our squad today for some game time.
From the kick off it was a fierce contest of rucks and mauls and defending by Burnham.
But Romford managed to cross the gain line with their dazzling centre who ran and side stepped with amazing runs through Burnhams defence.
Burnham kept their heads high and continued to battle but could not break Romfords defence. in the scrums Romford started on top and wining ball against the head which led to another try. At half time Burnham were 5-0 down and came out to raise their game. This resulted with ball moving though some hands the Captain capitalising on some poor defence to crash the ball over the line to score.
Burnham rallied and continued to contest in all areas and with the scum started to get on top and winning some ball.
The move of the match was provided by Burnham who charged up the field with counter ruck, the ball moved forward and freely moved through the hands of several players which resulted into a maul and the Burnham player surged forward to crash over the line. Huge cheer from the supporters for the outstanding try. Romford ran over a few move try's and Burnham continued to battle. Result 55 - 10
