RASHBROOK shows great leadership as Captain and his team play as A TEAM and sneak a little win well done!

Crisp wind at a Sunny Benfleet Marshes.

Today Burnham u12s visited the Mighty Benfleet Vikings on this cold crisp morning and what a game for Burnham who kindly lent the Vikings 3 players, well done to those players who volunteered immediately - great sportsmanship.

Captain Rashbrook and Vice Captain Diss fired up their team and boy did it work.

The Vikings flew out of the blocks from the kick off to go over for a try by a Burnham player!

This half the teams were evenly matched to begin with and Burnham soaked up some pressure to move up the field to score their first try of the match with some fine mauling and quick ball. Another two tries by Burnham who now had their tails up and playing some fine rugby with the forwards winning rucks and mauls and going forward and releasing the backs to score . But again the Vikings hit back and the half ended 15-25 to Burnham.

Change of ends and with the wind behind Burnham stepped up a gear and started to dominate the scrums. Quick thinking from a penalty the scrum half ran in a try. Further tries for Burnham with neat looping from the speedy winger going over for another try. The mighty Vikings were showing signs of the pace and at times couldn't keep up and gaps opened up for Burnham to go and score again and again.

The Vikings did rally and went to score with a strong maul near the end.

Burnham today played as a Team and had seven different scorers a true Team effort!

Also have to mention George Parker, Freddie Fisher-Humphries and Joey Clark who all scored for the Vikings.

Man of the Match to Harvey Warner for his first match in a yellow shirt, a welcome addition, he was like a terrier in rucks, mauls, tackles and then flying up the wing in attack, cutting inside the opposition to put tries over the line.

TREDS player of the week to Freddie Fisher-Humphries who held his position with patience and dignity, waiting for that golden nugget to come out to him.

Best dressed Joey Clark who desperately tried to keep that tomato soup off his lovely white shirt!
