Burnham play out of their skins and are rewarded for their tremendous efforts

Sizzling Burnham U12 / 11s

On a glorious sunny Sunday Burnham U12 / 11s entertained Benfleet Vikings at home.
1st half and Benfleet kicked off and from the start Burnham boys mixed it up with some fine mauling and passing to move up the field into the Vikings 5metre line, from quick ball Burnham moved through the hands for the first try of the day. Burnham continued throughout keeping the pressure on the Vikings who struggled to get out of their own half. From a scrum Burnham won the ball moved from the scrumhalf out to the winger who cut back inside beating two players to score the second try.  The pattern of this half remained the same and Burnham were sizzling in the heat and didn't let up . Another fine move from the backs and with a player in support, popping the ball from a maul to a player who was steaming through and gained ground to then pass it again to the winger who was waiting patiently and he flew over the line. Burnham pressured and again the Vikings defending on their own try line tried to move the ball but Burnham had a player incredibly hungry for that ball who managed a superb interception to go over the try line with great confidence.  Vikings rallied on last play of the half to wrong foot Burnham's defence for their speeding winger beating three Burnham players to go over for their first score of the day.
Half time 20-5

2nd half Burnham kicked off and tried to maintain the pressure but the Vikings were putting up a fight and moved the ball again to a speedy winger to score in the corner, they then managed another quick try again from a speedy winger to bring the score 20-15.
Burnham had to step up a gear started to drive forward in mauls and passing the ball along the back line to gain territory. A quick breakaway from Burnham beating three players to score for Burnham. Another fine attack saw the ball move through the hands with lay off from the hooker to the forwards who then looked and scanned and popped the ball out to the centre who sniffed out that try line! over again and score, The Vikings tried but just could not contain the now rampant Burnham side who were playing out of there skins. Yet again another passing movement from the Burnham squad to find the tremendous runner who ran in another fine try.

Today the Coaches had no words....they didn't need to say any as the game and team said it all today Fantastic game of Rugby, Huge well done to the TEAM yes it was a Team performance, so proud of you all.
