What an almighty finish to a brilliant and progressive season from our boys

Old Brentwood flew out of the blocks from the start and Burnham were easily wrong footed and Old B popped over a super little try to get the first points on the board. Burnham boys fired themselves up and from a lovely kick the winger easily picked the ball up and went straight over the line. Burnham soon came back again and literally within a minute with a tremendous run from the fly half scored again. Burnham's heads were held high and the game just became a festival of superb rucking, mauling, passing and just sheer brilliance from both squads. There were several tries held up by Old B and Burnham seemed individually white line hungry but this soon went and they came back as a team and from that came another try in the first half from some immense off loading from two of our forwards who found the centre who steamed over the try line to secure a try. Leaving half time score as 15 - 5.

Second half Old B were fired and running some tremendous lines but our boys just were relentless in the mauls and slowing their play down. So many times Old B were close to the line but two players chased them down and secured a fabulous tackle. Burnham were then into an attacking position and with some great forward play and quick off loads the ball found itself to the hooker who sang his way over the line, but Old B never gave up and came back with three tries in a row. Our team regrouped got themselves back into the game and did what they have been encouraged to do all season, pass the ball, it was just fantastic to see and witness, with tries being scored by the wingers sprinting up the pitch and a fabulous try coming from the base of a strong ruck for the scrum half to dive for the line. Final score 35-20
We are so proud of both teams they have come so far from the beginning of the season. Thank you boys for such a great game.
