Burnham still Blazing at Basildon!
A depleted U12s squad visited Basildon who kindly loaned 4 players for this match.
Burnham stuttered from start and after a miscommunication Basildon scored a easy try.
This was followed up with another try for Basildon who broke through two players and score.
Burnham started to change gear and driving maul which lead to scrumhalf passing out to the winger to score Burnham's first try. This lifted the Team and with Captain leading by example Burnham moved into top gear wining rucks and driving mauls and using passing game moved Basildon from one side of the field to the other only for last ditch tackle into touch prevented a scoring opportunity. This half Burnham slowly getting on top playing the game they only know by passing. After a penalty awarded for high tackle Burnham's quick thinking scrumhalf tapped and go stormed through Basildon to score.
Burnham's Captain then scored with a burst through Basildon defence to go over the line. Basildon hit back with some try's of their own with a speedy big centre running to the try line on couple of occasions. Burnham still using the passing game had another driving maul with the ball passing out of hand to the winger who dazzled past two Basildon defenders to score. Half Time 30-20
Second half Burnham still playing as a Team where on top with superbly driving mauls and fantastic rucking and scrumhalf making all the right plays using the passing game throughout. Another driving maul and breakaway Burnham's Captain scored his second try of the game.then for only Basildon to hit back to score. Burnham will power and determination drove them on and passing out of a ruck the winger went over again.
Scores very tight in this game with the lead changing around. Scores where level when Basildon managed to edge the  game and go 10 points clear but only for the Burnham's inspirational Captain to score his third try of the game on last play. Burnham deserved more from this game and can be proud of another fine display of rugby!
Final score 50-45.
Coaches John and Jake highly commended the Team today for effort and playing yet again as a team on fire!
Burnham who continued to play as a Team and all played for each other today and will welcome back Lewis Gillett and Sam Keheller from injury for the next home game against local rivals Swf.
