Waterfall cup Eton Manor v Burnham on Crouch U13s
The team visited Eton Manor for their Waterfall Cup game on a cold and bright Sunday morning.
Eton Manor kicked off the first half and Burnham made ground into Etons half and probed at their defence with some ruck and mauls and they could not get out of their own half. Numerous scrums from some knock ons out of hand by both sides but Burnham had some strong scrummaging and continued to fight and win the ball with Eton Manor who were strong in defence with some last ditch try saving tackles.
But it was Eton Manor who scored the opening try with a breakaway from their own half and missed tackle by Burnham which let them go through and score. It was an even first half with play from both sides. Burnham hit back with a try of their own through the middle from maul and pass no 10 to dart over the try line, Burnham had two try's disallowed for infringement and judged for double movement but continued to battle. Each side scoring another try to end this half. 10-10
Burnham kicked off the second half and started brightly playing up hill, but Eton had a speedy substitute who ran in another two try's and adding a third from a kick into Burnham half on a counter attack to go over the try line.
Burnham continued to fight and winning scrum ball , both sides going into contact , mauling and rucking which resulted in another Burnham try.
Burnham then started to notch more pressure on Eton Manor camped on their 5 metre line only for a counter attack and score by their winger.
But Burnham still continued and worked the ball for another try.
Final score 40-25 try score Lewis G 5
