Very Windy - Burnham U11s travelled to Wanstead
First game Burnham Team held their positions and defence really well against Wanstead.
Tremendous display this half from both teams and finely Wanstead broke through over the line.
Burnham went into the second half with the same discipline but Wanstead had some fine runs and broke through. Burnham hit back with a fine try after some rucking and passing Charlie Simms went over. Final Score 25-5 although the game did not reflect on the score it was very close!
Second game against Hackney Bulls. Burnham struggled to get out of their starting blocks but still battled hard.
Second half Burnham tried to hold the line but slowed up in defence with some questionable decisions the Bulls scored well. The consolation Try came from some fine mauling and passing with the ball popped out to Jobo Petherick on the wing who beat two players for a Try. Final Score 30-5.
This second game against Wanstead with Burnham having a good Team talk started better with improved tackles but again some dazzling runs Wanstead went over the line. Burnham had Jack Beale come off the field with a bloody nose but Burnham rallied and came out and fought hard and defended the line with a great kick by Sam Keheller to the half way line, unfortunately the ball was picked up by the Wanstead speedy winger who dazzled to the Try line. Burnham never gave up and eventually went over the line with a Try. Score 25-5
Burnham coaches were proud of the Team today and look forward to Tuesdays Training.
