It was a bright start away to South Woodham Ferries today with Aidan leading the way as Captain for the first time. The power house Mr Gillet got things going, steaming through from the off to get the first try in what was to be an end to end game. Woodham fought back and some unfortunate missed tackles from a sleepy Burnham side let them back in the game. Some great running forward from Burnham saw Sam, Keeaun and Ryeka all run in tries despite some great defensive play from Woodham. The second half saw much the same, all be it with some better tackling from Burnham. Some great supportive play from the powerhouse of Alfie and Charlie supported by Erin, saw the first game end in a well deserved draw. The second game saw Ryeka set the scoring off with a great run down the line which was quickly followed by a second and third. Woodham caught Burnham sleeping and ran in two successive tries after some fantastic rucking over the ball. Callum came alive in the second game running in two tries after some great defensive work by Cameron wining the ball during a ruck and some solid play by Adam in the centre. Keeaun was constantly solid in his defensive play putting in tackle after tackle earning him the defensive player of the match. Callum was a well deserved winner of the attacking player of the match.
